Trust design. Waterville with your vinyl flooring installation!
Vinyl installation is simpler than hardwood, laminate, carpet, or tile installation. In fact, many DIYers opt to do the project themselves. However, we still recommend trusting professionals, as they can ensure success and efficiency throughout the entire installation process. Read on to learn more!
Preparing for your vinyl flooring installation
To prepare, you must first empty the room of furniture and any valuables. You may need to remove baseboards and moulding in advance, which is something we can discuss with you. You might also need an underlayment, which is another detail we'll discuss beforehand. Your subfloor will need to be completely clean, flat, and smooth.
During & after your vinyl flooring installation
Depending on the type of vinyl you've chosen, this process will vary. Vinyl can be self-stick or glue-down, the latter taking more time. You'll need to have someone who is at least 18 years old home to greet the installation team and show them to the work area. Be sure to keep children and pets away from the work area until the job is finished! Afterwards, you'll want to establish proper ventilation, especially if you're sensitive to the smell of chemicals.
Once your vinyl is installed, you'll need to establish a care routine to keep it looking and performing well. While vinyl is both waterproof and scratch-resistant, it isn't indestructible and you'll want to follow a few simple maintenance tips to get the most out of your new flooring!
