Laminate Flooring Installation

Trust design. Waterville with your laminate flooring installation!

Laminate flooring is designed for easy installation. In fact, many DIYers choose to take care of the entire job themselves. However, we still recommend trusting professionals with your laminate installation. This ensures a flawless job the first time while also making sure you don't void any manufacturer's warranties. Read on to learn more.

Preparing for your laminate flooring installation

Laminate flooring is easy to install due to its unique locking edges. It "floats" above the subfloor, expanding and contracting with any climate changes in your home. Because of this, it can be installed over any other type of flooring. Since it is so easy to install and can be installed over any other type of flooring, you don't have to worry about ripping out your old flooring and disposing of it if you don't want to. You will need to make sure your subfloor is sound, dry, clean, and flat, however, and your laminate installation will also require an underlayment. The underlayment protects against moisture while insulating your flooring, making it sound and feel more like genuine hardwood.

During & after your laminate flooring installation

A member of your household who is at least 18 or older should be available to greet the installation crew and show them to the work area. For everyone’s safety, keep children and pets away from the work area until the job is done. Feel free to ask your lead installer any questions you might have about the finished product. You may also be instructed to stay off of your flooring for a set amount of time to allow any stain or varnish to properly cure. If this is the case, our team will inform you.

Once your laminate flooring is installed, it's up to you to keep it looking and performing its best. To do that, you'll need to establish a regular care and maintenance routine that includes sweeping, vacuuming, and proper stain removal. Learn more!
